Karl Riker and Warrant Officer Sandra Lansing The objective on Lualia’s Lawless Coast is to stop pirates who are disrupting commerce and taking both crews and ships hostage for large ransoms. In addition to extortion, the pirates have recently begun murdering their captives even when ransoms have been paid. This is a new and troubling development in the conflict, and one that was previously out of character for the pirates. The pirates have begun renewed attacks after months of relatively quiet operations. A few recent bold assaults on freighters and oil tankers were the last straw. Now, intelligence believes they have located the headquarters of a local warlord and leader. A strike to neutralize the target and any remaining resistance in the coastal pirate town is authorized. |
