Locations SalcedoUnit: 3-166th Aviation Regiment Pilots: Captain Erik Allen and CW2 Guy Lewis Following a violent coup in the small Central American nation of Salcedo, local drug kingpins are now operating freely and have gained control of many of the cities and surrounding jungles. The US Army, operating covert support operations and drug interdiction missions, has moved to a more aggressive posture as violence has gripped the countryside. Atrocities are being reported as the drug cartels expand their base of operations virtually unchecked in within the borders of Salva Reales. The most dangerous and violent of these cartels is run by the ruthless Trece Cuchillos, who have begun a campaign of terror to consolidate their power in the region. Unwilling to have a rogue nation with its sphere of influence, and worried about an unchecked and unchallenged drug trade in Salcedo, the US Army begins attack sorties against some of the major holdings of the drug cartels from forward bases in a friendly Central American nation. As the chapter begins, Allen and Lewis are flying covert search and destroy missions against the Trece Cuchillos in the jungles of Salcedo when reports of increased terrorist activity around the world begin filtering in. With everything moving at an accelerated pace, and without time to coordinate the logistics of large scale offensive against the drug cartels and the terrorists, it is up to a small cadre of Apache pilots to stop the attack. |
