The Apache AH-1 is a British variant of the Apache AH-64D Longbow. Significant differences include:
Installation of twin Rolls-Royce Turbomeca RTM322 turboshaft engines generating a maximum of 1,693 kW each.
Ability to launch the CRV-7 70 millimeter unguided rockets – an improved version of the standard 70mm rocket. This rocket can be fitted with a Flechette Anti-Tank warhead containing five tungsten-reinforced steel flechettes with the ability to penetrate a T-72's side and top armor at a distance of 10,000 feet (3,000 m). A precision guided variant of the CRV-7 adds laser-designation homing capability to the rocket.
An integrated defensive aids suite consisting of radar frequency interferometer and early warning systems.
